insomnia from thyroid medication?

Hi,

I started taking Lexoxyl a month ago for hypothyroidism and have started to have problems sleeping, trouble falling asleep and waking up frequently during the night. I feel physically tired from not getting enough sleep but not tired enough to sleep. Other than that I feel OK. I go for my blood text week.

Anyone else had the same problem?

Hi Lisa and welcome - Usually the sleeping problems occur before the medication - so perhaps you are either experiencing symptoms that have come on after you began taking the medication and will clear up when your TSH level is within the normal range, meaning they have nothing to do with the meds, you would have experienced them anyway or your dose is too high and you're experiencing sleep problems because of it. Do you have any other sy,ptoms that might indicate your dose is too high? So you feel nervous, have anxiety, a higher pulse rate, a racing heart? Any or all of these things might mean your medication is just too high for you at this point. What do you think? Cathy :)
