Question about flu shots...

We've all heard about the situation with the flu vaccines. I've never had one and don't intend to start now, but I saw something yesterday at the pharmacy that made me think.
A sign had been posted (they are doing flu shots today) on who should get the shots. One "category" was people with "metabolic" diseases (i.e. diabetes). This made me wonder if hypothyroid or hyperthyroid people are at higher risk and should get the shot.
I searched the web for "who should get flu shot" and one of the sites said this:
"Children 6-23 months old, people 65 and older, people with underlying or chronic medical problems, pregnant women, nursing home residents, health care workers who directly care for people at high risk of flu complications, child care workers who take care of children under age 2, and children who regularly take aspirin."
Again, the part that made me wonder is the part about "chronic medical problems". Do the thyroid issues fall into this category?
Like I said, I don't think I'm going to start getting that shot this year, but there may be some people here who might otherwise decide they don't need one.
Just a question, I hope it doesn't start a panic or anything! :)

Recommendations from an Infection Control Nurse:
Now that the vaccine shortage has been announced, there are steps that each of you can take to help prevent this infection.
