Hi Denise,

I can certainly sympathize with you...I too, am uninsured. This diagnosis (Hypothyroidism) has really put a bit of a financial burden, on me. I will tell you this, the Dr.'s bills are OK, the lab fees, however, are outrageous.

I would ask your Dr. if he/she is willing to test specifically for thyroid. When I initially went in he had no idea what to test for and ran a full panel (over $280). Now, he just tests for my thyroid, and occasionally my cholesterol. He also suggested that I go in for testing every 6 months instead of every three. This may sound "lax," but I don't know that I could afford going every three months, at this time.

Good luck, Denise!

Hi Denise,

I was also without insurance when I was diagnosed.
