Thyroid scan results

I had a thyroid ultrasound done. I am hypo and on thyroxizine (Sp?). The doctor sent the results to me with no interpretation (she only ordered the scan because my OB/GYN told me to have her do it). This is the wording/ The first impression, I understand but not the second.
IMPRESSION:
1. Mild thyroid gland enlargement without evidence of discrete nodule
2. Diffusely heterogeneous echogenicity of the thyroid parenchyma, which may be seen in thyroiditis.
Any ideas what #2 means?
Thanks in advance

Meaning "anything that is poured in beside". If you consider an organ having a scaffolding of blood vessels, lymphatic vessels, nerves and connective tissue (i.e. stroma), all the other cells that are "poured in" around the scaffolding is parenchma. In other words, the parencyma is the distinctive part of the organ.
heterogeneous
adj: consisting of elements that are not of the same kind or nature
adj: originating outside the body
Sounds to me like they saw something indicative of thyroiditis.
I dont know too much about ultrasounds though!! Have you been diagnosed with anything?
