At what level do you feel best?

I posted for the 1st time a couple of days ago with results I had gotten on tests in the past. In 1993 my TSH by RIA was 4.4 and in 2000 my TSH was 2.3. These were considered normal at the time. In my discussions with others who are being treated for hypothyroidism I have learned that most people feel their best when then TSH is under 2. At what level do you feel the best? At what level do you start having symptoms?
I will be discussing my results with my doctor on my next visit. So hopefully relief is on its way.

Thanks.

Hi:

I feel bad now at 3.4. I don't feel much difference when it's 5 or 6 or 7, though... I'm hoping to be able to let you know when I start to feel better... any day now..........

Well, I was a basket case when I was first diagnosed and my TSH was 8.7. When it came down into the 3's, I was ok for awhile but then started getting symptoms again. I oculdn't find a doctor who would increase my medication for quite some time so I felt bad for awhile. When I finally got a new doctor, I still didn't feel good when it was about 2.7 or so. Now I'm down to 1.8 and I feel great, hypo-wise. But I'm really staying on top of how I feel because I want to be sure to catch any symptoms as they start so that I can go in for another blood test. Great question! Cathy :)

That's what's so bad about thyroid disease .. it really sneaks up on you.

Hi Monica:

Waiting in between doses has been the hardest part for me!

Aaak.

I told my husband that I'd have given up if I didn't remmber the 2 weeks when I actually felt good... way at the beginning, when I had my first prescription... it's like almost torture to remember feeling good and waiting and waiting....

Hang in there.

Dee.
