A question for Saturday!

Hi everyone! Another "hair-raising" week for me trying to get back into the balance of working and family and regular life. I'm almost finished with the material for the first parent workshop that we'll be holding at my school - the one I work at - so it's very exciting. I spent yesterday afternoon, after work, driving around the neighborhood around school putting up flyers in stores etc. It was a little scary!! I work in an inner city neighborhood and some of these places are frightening. But I made it!! Anyway .... here's a question for today:

What's your favorite way(s) to relax??

One of mine is being on the board here, and at Kathy Smith's; another is working out. I had such a hard day on Thursday that I just came home, changed, and started working out! :) Another one is reading.

So how do you relax??? Cathy :)

This is something I really need to work on lately. I use to be so good and faithful at relaxing but don't do it often enough. The one thing I do on consistant basis is to take nice hot, hot, hot, baths. I love to lay back and just soak for a good hour (if I can - with kids its not an easy feat - they want to join me in the tub all the time - LOL). I hope to get back to exercising soon. With my depression it has been so hard to get motivated to do anything and IF by chance I do get motivated than I have no energy to do it! LOL Good for you for working out. It is such a great stress reliever I find.

Hi Cathy,

It seems it's "that time of year"...everyone seems to be just crazy with activities. My activities will "slow down" just in time for the holidays! I can hardly believe it's only 60 +/- days to Christmas!

I relax by playing games online, or reading (but I haven't had THAT much time in awhile), or just vegging in front of the tv. I'm hoping to start some workout stuff soon, but right now I'm dealing with some back pain and standing is hard enough. My fiance and I would like to join a local fitness center since our house is rather small and it's kinda hard to exercise with three dogs trying to figure out what in the world you are doing! LOL!

I think this was a great question because perhaps someone else's way of relaxing will inspire another! Especially in my case because my relaxation methods are really lame! LOL!

Have a great weekend!

Hi,

I enjoy photography, and "hanging out" with my dogs, and nieces and nephews! : )

I knit. Something about the hand motions, and working with really nice wool, is very relaxing.

That's really neat. I was just saying to my daughter that we need to learn to knit. I know how but it's one of those things I always forget until I get started again. There are so many beautiful yarns out there. Anyway, I'll bet that *is* relaxing .... and productive, too! Cathy :)

I knit too or quilt, I like to be able to focus on something and also having something to show for my time always makes me feel good. But I also enjoy reading, and although I love him with everything in me, escaping from my 3 year old is also relaxing:-)

Well, I'm not sure how x-rated we can be here so I'll go with taking a long walk. A bubble bath seems like a great idea, but I can't sit still that long. And with 5 kids, there is never the chance. I normally like to sit and read books, but with 4 grad english courses right now, that's all I do and not the kind of books I like. Other than that I guess would be baking. I made sugar free shortbread cookies over the weekend and they were very good, but without the sugar, they were dry. I guess I have to try again, and again, and again, and again. At least the mistakes are tasty. Mary

I agree on the bubble baths! Maybe if I had a wonderful bathtub, it would be more enticing. I love to bake too and had pretty much given it up because of the calories! But now i get to bake every now and then from our small group meeting on Sunday nights and I love it! Cathy :)
