Dosage change cause missed period???

Hello - newbie on this board.

I have been hypo for 12 years. Dosage has changed over time based on events (2 pregnancies) and such.

Over the last 9 months or so, things have really gone down hill. All the doctors I visited tested my levels (well actually just my TSH level) and said I was within the range (the old range). Just lately though in May, finally found a doctor who tested the whole panel of thyroid levels not just TSH. I had just been put in the hospital for chest pains (which showed no heart problems with the stress test). So when he listened to all my symptoms (which covers the whole gambit), he tested TSH, T3, T4, Reverse T3, FreeT4, and my antibodies. Well needless to say - he was shocked I was not in the hospital in a coma with my whole body shutting down. Thank God - I thought I was just a horrible mom and spouse for no reason. So he has gradually upped my Levoxyl dose from 72.5 to 125 and added cytomel at 10 mg a day. Boy - what energy I have had and lost 9 pounds since without changing any diet or exercise. And my hair is coming back in and my skin is getting so much softer. Periods are much better. Don't want to list the whole list of things, but almost all my symptoms have already been changed based on getting new meds. I actually feel like getting off the couch now. Doctor hasn't changed my dosage since August (had 2 periods since then).

So - here's the latest where I need advice. I'm scared to ask him cause I don't want him to lower my dosage if it's not related. For the first time (outside my 2 pg) I have missed my period. I am now 2 weeks late and all the at home tests are showing I'm not pg again. So - is it my thyroid medicine?

If you feel ok and there is nothing unusual or suspicious

I have not heard or read anything about "missed" periods because of thyroid meds but I am no expert. I think you have to rule out other stuff too. Like how old are you? You could be getting closer to menopause etc. I would ask your doctor and not worry about him decreasing the meds for one missed period. THere could be so many other factors involved.
