We went to a new doctor on Thursday. He took one look at him and the lab report and said, "Oh my, I think we need to lower his perscription." However, because he had been in "hyper" for a good while, it sent him into an anxious clinical depression. For weeks he couldn't sit still or lie still for more than five minutes. He just had to keep moving. The doctor said it was very critical that he get sleep, and that the Welbutrin was the worse thing our doctor could have prescribed since insomnia is strongly associated with this drug. He prescribed Klonopin (clonazepam)0.5mg and Lexapro (escitalopram)10mg. Within 30 minutes of taking them, my husband fell fast asleep. I never thought his snoring would sound so good. It was like music to my ears.
For the past several days I've started to notice a calmness to him. And today he's actually trying to do some work; although he is still far from well.
You try very hard to seek competent medical care. You'd like to put your trust in the professionals. But what happens when these so-called "professionals" get it wrong? I could have lost my husband and that scares me to my very bones.
We have an appointment on the 22nd to see the new endocrinologist. My hope is that he will be professional and competent. I'll ask/beg him to check for everything. And if he doesn't, you bet I'll find one who will.
Thank you all again for being out there.

You Go!
I'm so happy he's found some relief. What a triumph for you, and I'm glad you've found the new doc. And, like you said, if the new endo. doesn't handle things the way you'd like, you'll find a new one!
Congrats & let us know how it goes,
Dee.
