My update...

Well, I went to the doc/PA yesterday and except for the DRAGON LADY who took blood, I think everything went pretty well.

The PA was VERY understanding and listened to what I had to say. She requested what seemed like an endless array of tests (TSH, T3 Uptake, T4 Free, Sedimentation Rate, and about 10 others!) to see if we can find an answer. I will go back on Monday for one more test and by then we’ll have the results of all the others.

She did check the tender points for fibro and as she was doing it I realized that I most likely don’t have fibro because the only tender points I reacted to were the ones on my back and neck.

I was just grateful that she didn’t laugh me out of the place when I told her that I had gotten lots of information over the internet (you know how they can be sometimes). I gave her the info Cathy posted about hypothyroid fibromyalgia and she kept it and read it, and seems to be reacting positively to it.

She gave me a refill for the pain meds I like so much and she gave me some extra synthroid so I don’t have to buy a whole refill just before they change my dosage again (which I’m pretty sure they are going to do).

I plan to ask for a copy of all the test results and I’ll probably have to come back here to ask for help interpreting them.

I'm still in pain but I know it could all be related to the hypo...it's just that before I was diagnosed my TSH was over 100 and I didn't feel this badly, so why do I feel so badly now?

So, no answers yet, but I’m very hopeful…

Hi dazed! That sounds like it went really well and all those tests will be good for you to get a good idea of where you're at. I'm glad you found your doctor to be understanding. That's great. I really hope that this will help you get to the bottom of all this so you can feel better soon!! I'm sorry I didn't answer this yesterday! I could have sworn that I did!! Let us know as soon as you hear something. Hugs, Cathy

Hi Cathy! Thanks for responding...

Oh yes, it all sounded good while I was there! LOL! I just talked to them about the test results and they told me that there is still one they are waiting for results on, but all the others so far are "normal"! LOL! I just had to laugh!

So, I asked if she could fax me a copy of the results and she said she could do that after they get the results of all the tests, and I'm supposed to have another one run on Monday...so I'm guessing it will be sometime next week before I hear anything "final".

Of course, I've already got my information ready if they give me the old TSH levels...and I found a site that lists what the results of a bunch of those tests SHOULD be (including the new TSH levels) and I'm ready to fight!!!

On a good note, I am feeling a bit better...if only I could get enough sleep! But it just seems like every other night there's either a party I HAVE to be at, or there's tons of shopping to do...you know, the same thing everyone else is doing/feeling this time of year! LOL!

I'll keep you all posted...maybe my answers will help someone else!

I know it's hard to balance everything this time of year. I have done absolutley nothing so far!! LOL! So there's some balance for you! I'm hoping to get a jump on things this weekend but I'm still going to try to keep things to a minimum of stress if that's at a all possible. I cancelled our trip to NYC for next weekend because I knew there was no way I could take the time to go. I wanted to take the kids down there to see the decorations while my husband was away on business but ... there's too much other stuff to do!! Keep us posted on the tests! Cathy:)
