HypoT and tongue swelling

Greetings all:
I am currenlty under the care of a reproductive endocrinologist, who lowered my thyroid meds as she thought I was taking too much ... bad idea as I went deeper into hypothyroidism.
I'm back on a higher dosage, but I continue to experience tongue swelling (scalloping /teeth marks of the tongue). This can be due to hypothyrodism, but since I'm on a higher dosage, I thought it would go away.
So I've been doing research on tongue swelling on the internet and came across things like B12 deficiency and a message board that discussed tongue swelling and the cause could be due to "deposits of muccopolysacharids that hypos are prone to". I think this is some kind of enzyme deficiency. I found the info at: http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/Forum118/HTML/003450.html
Does anyone have tongue swelling as a symptom of HypoT and is there a way to control it (I fine it most annoying). Has B12 helped or taking a digestive enzyme relieve swelling?
My RE is aware of my problem and she just changes my meds again and so won't be able to take a blood test until mid-January to check my levels.
Thanks much for any insight :-D
Monica.

Apparently, tongue swelling is quite common in hypo.
Well, I finally found the web site that the gal was referring to in the message board chat:

There are some mighty big words in there that'll need to look up ;-)
Monica.
Thanks for the input!

Hi Monica - thanks for the link. I'll check it out later today. Here is a site that I found interesting. Not that I think this condition is the cause of our tongue swelling, because everything I've seen so far lists it as a symptom of hypo but ... it has some interesting links with hypothyroidism, like being an accumulation of antibodys in the system, links with diabetes, links with being an autoimmune condition. Check it out when you have a chance and let me know what you think: http://www.usadrug.com/IMCAccess/ConsConditions/Amyloidosiscc.shtml
