Hi all:

I've been away for a while entertaining family for the holidays. I wrote in after a vacation that I took in Sept. about how stress relates to symtpoms, and I'm at that point of realization again.

I think my new dose was starting to really help toward the middle of december... for the first time in 2 years my hair didn't fall out for over a week, and I woke up a few morings with an oily face... I used to have oily skin, but haven't since the hypo... but boy, was I happy for the first time in my life to be so shiny! LOL! Brain fog lifted & I wasn't so tired.

But then the hoidays hit and I worked really hard during the 3 weeks my family were here. I was the host & there was just so much work to be done. Also, it was stressful as we all went away to a ski resort and it involved so much planning and packing and then the stress of being away from home and doing the whole Christmas thing there. There were 8 people, 3 dogs and a cat all staying in a small cabin in the woods! Anyway, the stress took its toll and when the visit was over I sunk into one of my deepest symptom times ever! I'm still feeling really bad symptom-wise.

I've learned that even though the supplement is helping, I still need to control the stress in my life and put some limits on what I agree to do because in some ways I'll never be the same. Really stressful times will still bring out hypo symptoms and I need to be more aware of that. I need to not get into a situation that deprives me of rest, exercise and other recouperative things.

I'm glad to be back into my normal routine,
I'll be on the boards again,
Dee.

Hi Dee - I just saw this!! I don't now what's happening to me lately, I keep missing posts! Anyway, I'm glad you're back and I think you're completely right. I nkow what happens when you start to feel better again is that we tend to overdo it because it feels good to be able to do what you want to do. But it does take it's toll. A few weeks of rest and taking care of yourself should bring you back!! And isn't that great that you were starting to feel better?? That's great news. Something to look forward to. I think stress places a great deal of ... stress .... on that whole system, that includes the thyroid, adrenals, pituitary. So it takes a while for everything to rebound. Take good care of yourself, get plenty of sleep, eat well, do some light exercise!!!! You'll be back in no time. Big hugs, Cathy :)
