Hi:
I have been on the board for about 9 months. I was diagnosed as hypo March 2004 and learned it was Hashimoto's in September. I found a highly recommended endo in November; the labs she did showed TSH = 3.6, total T-4 = 1.3 and T-3 = 95 (I was having a lot of symptoms) she increased my Levoxyl from 0.112 to 0.128.
I felt better for a couple of weeks and then after the holidays I started to fall down again. A lot was stress, but when I started to ease back into my normal life, the muscle twitches, fatigue, digestive troubles, coldness, irritablitiy and hair falling out started in strong again. I managed to wait 2 weeks before going in for the labs and I just got my new results. She only ran the TSH and T-3 this time. TSH = 3.9 and T-3 = 93.
Last time she said we should talk about supplementing the T-3 if there is no significant change... well, there wasn't. I have left her a message so that she knows I'm having symptoms.
I would really like to get on top of this and get my TSH down to 1 or 2... AND get the symptoms under control.
Any suggestions? My endo is very open; she also has excellent advice, so I'm inclined to try what she suggests. But I thought I'd put it out there and see what advice folks here have before she calls me back.
Thanks,
Dee.

Dee - I think you just need your medication increased. Your body is still reacting to a lack of thyroid hormone. What are taking now?
The last time I had my bloodwork done, I had a TSH of 1.6, but I still didn't feel great. So I was put on a schedule of taking 137 mcg Monday through Thursday and 125 Fri, Sat and Sun. It's made all the difference. I feel wonderful. So that be a simple answer to you, too! Hugs, Cathy :)
Thanks Cathy,
I think you're right. My endo will undoubtedly increase my dose; she might also start a T-3, which is fine with me... I'm willing to try whatever she suggests. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who really, truly needs TSH to be in the 1 range!
I'm beat, time for bed (0nly 7:15pm here LOL)

Hi:
My endo called today and said "you're numbers are going in the wrong direction!" I said "I know!" We shared a laugh... anyway, she put my Levothroid up to .150, so we'll see what happens. I'm looking forward to being on a new dose... there's always that time of feeling better to look forward to. (Let's hope this time it stays that way)
Dee.
