Hello! Well I have some good news. I found a Endo that can see me this Wed! So what should I expect on the first appointment? My regular doctor told me that my levels were high, will they put me on meds this app? Or take more blood and go from there? I'm just tired of feeling this way!
Thank you guys so much for everything.

Depending on how long ago your blood tests were he may want to retest you.

Hi Kim - most doctors like to do their own blood tests so you may have to have them thaken over again before this doctor will prescribe medication. Or he may prescribe a low dose and then make any needed changes once he sees your blood tests results. They will also do a family history and then talk to you about what symptoms you're having, how you feel overall, etc. It's best to write down any questions you might have for the doctor because there's so much going on, you might forget some! And also write down your symptoms if you need to, so you can remember them all. I used to forget some of those all the time!! Let us know how it goes. I hope you like him or her!! Make sure that you are assertive in telling the doctor how you're feeling. A good doctor will care about that!! And not just brush you aside. Cathy :)

Hmm is this weird? I called up doctor and told her I needed some sort of letter showing what was going to happen tomorrow. (my church is helping with some of the costs)All the paper showed was cost of first visit, and thyroid ultrasound. No blood work. Is that weird? And thank you so much for all your help!
Thanks Kim

>All the paper showed was cost of first visit, and thyroid ultrasound. No blood work. Is that weird?<

Not necessarily. I believe that would be billed by the lab that runs the test(s). The majority of the costs I incur come from the lab fees. They are incredibly high! I am uninsured so I SEE what the actual charges are...and pay for them.

For my full panel when I initially went in it was $200+...strictly for lab fees. I have had blood work a total of 3 times, and it was over $700 for lab fees. Remember, that is not at all including the office visit, or what my D.O. charges to PERFORM the actual drawing of the blood.

It may be different at your Dr.'s office...let's hope so!

Good luck, and take care! : )
