I'm starting to use Thyroid Helper from Wellness Resource Center and I'm hoping this will help with my Sluggish Thyroid and weight problem. Has anybody ever used this product? It's all natural stuff so I hope I'm doing the right thing. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Mary Ann

Hi !

In response to your question about thyroid helper I take it and I found it very helpful, mainly in overall feeling. I am hypo and I'm taking synthroid in addition to thyroid helper. Before I started taking it I had headaches almost daily, had awful muscle cramps and was feeling more tired than usual. At one point I stopped taking it and my symptoms came back so I'm back on it. I think I have a problem converting T4 into T3 and thyroid helper really works I mean it really helps LOL.
As for the weight, I'm not very overwheight 10lb over, but I am not excersising and don't watch my diet. So I think if you can excersise a little and eat healthy you will probably have resoults.

Hope this helps.

Hi, and thanks for your great reply. You certainly have made me feel a lot better.
I am feeling like you do. It's amazing how this stuff works. Do you take 2 caps, 3 times daily or just 1?

I also have trouble with my right ear a little clogged and I'm hoping it's because of my thyroid problem and maybe once my thyroid problem gets better; so will my ear; here's hoping.

I'm getting a little mad at my GP Doctor who's also a Thyroid Specialist. He's very hard to talk to and doesn't say much unless you ask him. If this Thyroid Helper does the trick; then he's going to hear about it. I can't wait to have my next blood test and see results. So I guess we have to stay on the medication as well as taking the Thyroid Helper although the Wellness Resource Center says that some people stop taking the medication because the Thyroid Helper works. Wouldn't that be something.

Hi Mary Ann - I don't know if you've seen the website that explains what's in this product but here's the link:http://www.wellnessresources.com/catalog/ThyroidHelper.htm

A while ago, I researched what could help me feel better because my doctor then - my former doctor, now :) - wouldn't increase my medication. Everything in this looks like just what I read about. So it seems safe to me. But you really have to be careful that the ingredients are pure and and it contains what it says it does. I don't know if you'd find it listed here but here's a site that tests vitamins and supplements: http://www.consumerlab.com/

I'd be interested to see what your doctor says. I finally got in to see an excellent endo in my area, he has increased me medication three times since June and I feel great. SO don't rule that out as an option, too. We need to be able to make or replace the thyroid hormone so that our body can convert it. If you don't have enough, no product will help you make more of it. Let us know how feel on it!! Cathy :)

Hello again,
I take thyroid helper 1 cap 3 times a day and it is enough for me.
You can start with that and see if your body requires more.

As for the ear that you've mantioned, before TH I have noticed a ringing sound in my right ear and I also had jumpy eye(tics in my eye).
I don't have them anymore thank goodness.
I am not going to mention TH to my doctor , because he is very conventional and those docs don't even believe in T4/T3 conversion. When I told him about my eye tics he immidiately responded that he can reffer me to a good eye doc. He wants to treat each
individual condition. So, I will see another that is more open to natural stuff and listens better to his patients. In meantime TH is definitively keeping me painless with more energy.

Good luck,

Agnes

Hi Cathy, thanks for your generous info. about this.

How do you find a really good doctor? Mine is a GP plus a Endo Specialist.
But he is not an easy person to talk to. He just takes my blood and I had to ask him to raise my Levoxyl level to 25 to 50 mg. He didn't even recommend any thoart x-rays for me, which I'm surprised about. I'm seriously thinking about changing and looking for a real specialist that will help with this. What would you recommend??

Thanks, Mary Ann

Hi - the first thing you can do is ask around! You'd be amazed how many people have thyroid issues and see and endo. I went through 3 doctors myself before finding this one. I went to the board on www.thyroid-info.com and asked if anyone knew of a good doctor in my area! Fortunately, someone did. I had to wait 6 months to get in to see him but it was worth it. Once I started going to him, I found out that a woman at my church used to work for him!! LOL! My son goes to him, too and my daughter is transferring over to him also.

You can also go to http://www.aace.com/memsearch.php or

http://www.thyroid.org/index.php3?M_Session=9994cd41eb24e7a8b784b42c34ca745a to find one registered with these organizations.

A good doctor makes all the difference. I was taking about 20 supplements a day trying to find something that only an increase in meds could do. It all helped for awhile but eventually, it evens out. So it's a good idea to start looking now before you're really in need!! Cathy :)

How do you figure out if you need a thyroid helper or not? I keep going
back to my doc for blood tests and everything is always fine. He doest want
to increase my meds, because there is nothing wrong with what im on he says.
I take levoxthrine(spelling) 100m a day. I exercise, watch what I eat,
take garlic pill, multiple vitiman, kelp pill(but recently heard thats not good with thyroid. My TSH was 2.35 couple weeks ago. but i had tingling in my hands and arms
(he says arthritus) and some trace of lupus showing, cause of the pain sometimes in
hands. but no other lupus stuff he said and not to worry.
The weight is a big problem been on meds for over a year, would think weight would come
off, well I did lose 1 1/2 pounds since re doing my diet and exercising so maybe thats a start.

Hi - I just saw your post! I would stop taking the kelp supplement if I were you. I've been trying to find a past post on it but can't. i don't have time to type all the info in right now but it isn't a good idea to take it. I'll try to type the reference info tomorrow from The Thyroid Solution by Dr. Riddha Arem, but he doesn't recommend taking it. While iodine is critical in the manufacture of thyroid hormone, too much of it can block the absorption of the hormone, defeating the whole purpose. There are other negatives, too. I just don't have time to type them out now! Cathy :)

Hi Cathy, just to let you know I read your last reply and I want to say something about that. I agree with you about the iodine issue because I think that what I got was an allergic reaction from it. I've brought the Wellness Resource Thyroid Helper and also the Iosol Iodine product. Everything went well with the Thyroid Helper but it seems that after I started taking the Iodine that's when I felt something in my upper right leg. I had gotten a nasty swelling and now I am taking antibotic for it. It was kind of scary but I feel much better. I just wanted to see if these products were any good to try for some help. But you really have to watch what you take. I don't think I'll buy into that stuff anymore and just stick with my doctor. If I can't get anywhere with him on my next visit. I will diffiently look elsewhere for a real Endo Doctor. It's just you get a little anxious and I guess I was really looking for a quick fix but obviously it doesn't work that way. I also thought it would help with my weight problem. Needless to say I've stopped taking them.

I'm so glad you stopped taking that then. Are you still taking the Thyroid helper or did you stop everything? I know how frustrating it is to want and need help. It's just an awful feeling. I wish it wasn't so hard to get good treatment but the more educated we become, the more we know about what we need, the better the care we can demand and/or seek. It's a difficult process to have to advocate for yourself just when you're feeling your worst!! Thanks for sharing that with us. Maybe it will keep someone else from going through the same experience. Cathy :)
