Hello to all once again,
I have been under a Dr. care for hypo for about nine years. Just about ten months ago my usual TSH blood test informed me that I was now hyper. My Dr. has been treating me for that and it has come along well. He also suggested that along with my ususal TSH blood test I have a high sensitivity TSH test and I wanted to know if anyone had this bood test or knew of it. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Babs - sorry it took so long for me to get to you, I've been really sick. I've heard of the sensitive TSH test. I'm not sure if it's new or if I've ever had it. I've found this on it:

Third generation or high-sensitivity TSH assays now allow the measurement of suppressed TSH values and can be used in the diagnosis of hyperthyroidism as well as hypothyroidism.
