Hi! I have a question. Yesterday, all day long, I was just crabby. Now, I have my period, but this was WAY beyond my "normal" monthly crabbiness. I was taking my kids to church at about 5:10 when I realized that I hadn't taken my Synthroid this morning. Could this have been the problem? I mean, EVERYTHING just set me off and I was ready to wring the neck of my hubby (who basically did nothing wrong) and I was just TOTALLY frazzled for some unknown reason.

Thanks for your input!

Hi:

I have found that since my diagnosis, I have been way crabbier when PMS strikes than ever before. In terms of missing a dose, my doctor and endos I've seen pretty much swear up and down that you don't notice a difference in a day, so the standard answer will be that it's not likely that you had symptoms from missing your dose... but who knows how these things really work... I think there's a lot more to it than most docs know.

There are associations between female hormones and thyroid hormones, and sometimes there's this big interaction... (wigging out!)

As a matter of fact, I noticed today that I'm feeling better (less tired, clearer-thinking, no headache, skin not so dry), but also realized that I'm sort of manic/ really on edge---and even a little panicy--- this sometimes happens as I adjust to a new dose...
Bottom line, you're not alone,

Good luck,
Dee.

ps. Sometimes I think the hubbies need their own Support board!! :-)

Hi Leigh Anne - I don't think missing one pill will make a difference but I do think it makes a difference where you are in your cycle as to how you're feeling. Some months are just full blown hormonal nightmares!!! I have days like that, too, where I'm nowhere near my period but close to ovulating. I'll hurt myself all day long, walking into walls, stabbing myself with silverware, dropping things. It's awful!! Maybe being hypo has something to do with it, but I don't think it makes mych difference in my own case. Hang in there!! Cathy :)
