Hi and welcome - I'm planning on asking my doc about it on my appointment next week and if I find out anything good, I'll share it with you. I really suffer from water retention, too and it just drives me crazy. There are some basic things you can do, like make sure you drink plenty of water every day, eat whole foods and avoid processed, boxed, white flour, white sugar foods - because they are either a) loaded with salt or b) release too much blood sugar which causes water retention in the end. If you already do those things and still find it to be a problem, there are supplements you can take that are helpful. 200-250 mg of Vitamin B-6, Vitamin E - about 800 IU's, GLA - about 1000 mg, 30 to 90 mg of zinc and 400 to 800 mg of calcium and magnesium. I looked this up awhile ago and it helped me quite a bit. But as my thyroid level came into the normal range, my vitamins and supplements were making me nautious so my doctor advised me to stop for awhile, which I did. But I feel your pain!! Water retention is a symptom of hypo and just a basic problem for us women, anyway!! I'll let you know if I find out anything new. Cathy :)
