Hi guys - Last week, I said that my endo told me I might be able to take a medication to stop my hair loss and actually help grow my hair back in. The name of it is Aldactone. Here's a link about it: http://www.thebaldtruth.com/womenscommunity/aldactone.htm
He said the most common side effect was that it might effect my periods, since it blocks the production of aldosterone, which might affect my hormone balance overall. I really trust this doctor. I know he wouldn't prescribe any unnecessary or even harmful medications for me. He didn't even want me to take vitamins, for goodness sake!! He was worried about the quality and content of them!! But I just don't know what to do.
It's not like my hair loss is tremendous but it does fall out everyday!! Most of you know what I mean. Plus, my mom's hair was seriously thin! And you inherit that trait through your mom. I'm not worried about the diuretic effect. I think I always have too much water in my system anyway. I guess I'm worried about introducing something that will interact with my hormone balance.
So ... what would you do??? What should I do?? LOL!! Cathy :)
