Wondering...

How is everyone doing tonight/morning? I'm fine. I know I should be in bed but I'm restless tonight. My brain will not shut off for some reason. I have a question though. When do your appointments go from once a month to once every two months, once every three months, once every four months and so on. Soon it will be a year that I've been to the docs every month. I know it all depends on everything. But what is that everything? Since I've decided to just keep taking the meds, do I still need my blood work taken every month and see the doc every month? Does one month make a difference over two months? I'm just wondering about all this. If anyone has any input it will be greatly appreciated.
Take care

Hey April,
We should have had a party last night. I tried staying in bed, but DH was getting snippy over my tossing and turning.

We do not have insurance. I have my blood checked once a month. I was doing it one way where I only had to pay 80.00 but now she wants my tf checked so I have to go another route which brings it up to 154.00. eek I tried calling after my blood results and the receptionist told me the docs don't go over the results over the phone. But I'm going to check on that again. I pay 100.00 to see the doc and then 125.00 for the meds. That's almost 400.00 a month. I know others have it worse than me, but that's a hunk of change. Another things about meds. I noticed when I filled my perscription, she gave me one refill can I just use this refill to hold me over until March? If so I'm going to call my doc and just reschedule things for march.

Thanks so much for your input. I appreciate everything!
Take care
Kim

Hi Kim,

Going in once a month seems a lot to me.

Hi Kim! My first endo wanted to see me every 6 weeks when I was first diagnosed and also to have my blood tests done. Then, he spaced both my appointment and blood tests to every 2 months I believe. Well, then I switched endo's and my new one wants to see me every 6 months and at first, she wanted my blood tests every 6-8 weeks. She stressed that if I wasn't feeling well, then I need to see her before 6 months. At my last appointment, my levels were good, so she told me to have blood tests done in 3 months and 6 months and wrote out the orders for me. She had me schedule my next appointment for 6 months!

Both my old endo and my new endo call me with the blood test results. They have never told me that I have to come in for the results. I also ask to have the results mailed to me and they always do!

Do you feel that you are benefiting from seeing her every month? Also, I think monthly is too soon to tell how the med's are working. You really need to talk to her about your concerns and ask her why she can't tell you your results over the phone and then mail them to you.

I hope this makes sense! I'm pretty tired! I had a Pampered Chef party last night and drank a little too much red wine! It was a good time! I'm beat though!

Take care of yourself! Danielle
