Hypo & B-12?

Hey! I've never visited this board before, but I'm hoping maybe you guys can give me some insight. I've had a wide array of symptoms lately & finally went to the doctor. He was convinced it was going to be my thyroid, but ran all kinds of tests. My thryoid tests all came back on the very low end of normal, but still within the normal range, but my B-12 also came back very low. How accurate are the thyroid tests? Do they vary greatly? And, can the low B-12 along with the lower end of normal thyroid stuff be combining to cause strange symptoms? Does anyone have any clues?

Thanks in advance for any help or insight!

Hi Jenn & welcome to our board.

I don't know what the B-12 test would mean but the thyroid test results could indicate a possible problem.

I have subclinical hypothyroid--just out of the "normal" range. What kind of symptoms are you having? My B12 was also low. The Dr. told me that some of my syptoms could be from both; I had nerve pain, especially in my feet and numbness in in my hands. I take sublingual B12--1000mg.

The pain/numbness has eased a little, of course I started the B12 at the same time as the thyroid medicine, so don't know which one is helping. I get my B12 tested in March.
