Ok I'm back.....
I am VERY upset. I contacted my ENDO (the one I have been seeing for 8 months)
with results from the test my new ENDO (I have not seen him yet, only phone
contact) ordered.
She had my results as well as my new endo..and my primary care phys.
I got a call this morning from my primary Doc. Stating to me to contact my Endo
as my new tests levels are extremely bottomed.
I call the Old endo as I wanted to see what she had to say about them. She
stated to me that they were not that bad and continue on with my meds and she'd
see me in 6 weeks....I also asked her for my Ultrasound results and she stated
that there was really no change and nothing to worry about.........Now mind you.
I have asked her OVER AND OVER, about my scans and always got the same
answer.......don't worry, we'll keep doing US's every few months......I
figured....great, nothing to worry about.
Called the new ENDO to discuss my test results and he stated he just got them
and that they were extremely low and needed to see me sooner. Bumped up my
apt....and stated that I call him everyday to check for a cancel to get me in
earlier. I never did ask either of them what my levels were as now I was
getting more confused. My old endo saw no problem with my levels but my PCP and
the new ENDO were very concerned.
So.........I decided to go directly to the Imaging place that did my US and
obtain my films and REPORT........Yeah right.....First of all I can not obtain a
report, they MUST be submitted to a MD. Well to say little, That did not sit
well with me. It's my body, my money, my business......I WANT MY REPORTS!!!!!!!!
Fist slamming on the desk at this point, with great distress to myself and the
office staff.......I got the report!
Sorry so long but, I need to vent.
The report shows.........
The right lobe of the thyroid measures 5.3 cm in greatest length, 1.5 cm in
greatest AP dimension, and 1.8 cmin greatest transverse dimension. The left lobe
of the thyroid measures 5.4 cm in greatest length, 1.6 cm in greatest AP
dimension, and 1.9 cm in greatest transverse dimension. Both lobes of the
thyroid are normal in size but have a diffusely nodular and heterogeneous echo
texture. the isthmus measures 3.4mm.
There are three HYPOECHOIC NODULES in the right lobe. The largest is in the mid
to lower pole measuring 12.0 mm. Two other discrete nodules are identified in
the mid to lower pole posteriorly measuring 9.0 and 8.0 mm respectively. There
are two discrete nodules identified inthe left lobe measuring 12.0mm and 11.0 mm
respectively. Recommend clinical correlation, and further evaluation with
neculear medicine thyroid scan, as clinically warranted.
Now, with that........I figured i'd call my old endo back. I stated to her...
"Do I have nodules on my thyroid"? she stated.........Yes....
I said "How many" she stated 5.
I asked her if I had them back in June on my last US.......She stated, Yes.
I asked her if they had changed in size....She said "they have gotten
signifigantly larger, yes"
I now asked her......Well why the H^%#! Have you waited this long to tell me?
She stated that she didn't think back in June that they would progress as they
have............
NICE. I should have known.........NO? I mean what's the big secret?!
I mean what was she waiting for? I'm so upset, I wish I knew my levels
now.......I can't wait to see this other Dr. I'll be calling for my levels in
the morning.........
Just an all around bad day. Again, sorry for the vent. Do any of you know what
this report shows......?
I have not had a Competent Dr. read it as yet.
Thanks again,
Lil

HI lill,
Usually hypoechoic nodules are cysts.
OK, Here we go...this is what I have.
T4,Free 0.9 0.8-1.8 ng/dl
T4, Total 5.8 4.5-12.0 ug/dl
T3,Total 123 60-181 ng/dl
don't understand why there isn't a T3Free in there
Thyroid Peroxidase AB. 11.7 < or = 35 IU/mL
Thyroglobulin AB <20.0 <20 IU/mL
Throgulobulin 154.0 2.0-35.0 ng/ml
These I don't really understand much at all but, the New endo called me tonight and he wants to see me at 11AM! I'm happy about that!
