Hi:
I'm sorry to admit that I did! But I couldn't help myself... I got hooked in during the first episode when the actress ("Countess" I think her name is) said that she had thyroid disease!
Well, if you watched it and missed them saying that on the first episode, then you would NEVER know that she did because they NEVER MENTIONED it again EVEN when she was the only one to GAIN weight during the 100-day weight loss program!!
On the third-to-the-last episode she did mention that she had her "medication adjusted" (the only episode when she lost weight, by the way!)...but the doctor in charge never asked her anything about that (tests, doses, etc!)
I was pretty bummed because I kept watching it thinking this was a chance for a thyroid sufferer to show the world what a huge challenge it is for us to lose weight, but as is typical they pretty much blamed it on her stress and life circumstances... And I'm sure they were huge factors, but it just really winds me up that so many of us wind up blaming ourselves in these situations.
OK, that's enough of that rant,
Thanks!
Dee.

HI Dee....I watched it and thought the same exact thing as you. I am starting to TRY and lose some weight. I told my hubby I am curious how she will do since she has thyroid problems which I am sure is probably undertreated!! Each week when she didn't lose or even gained some DH said thats b/c she didn't follow the diet! Ugh!
thanks for pointing that out! i had no idea!! I totally feel you!
Rachel
My DH thought the same thing, I think... but has learned not to say it out loud anymore! LOL!
I'd be willing to bet that although she admitted to craving and eating sugary foods, she didn't eat enough to gain 2 pounds each time. (I'd bet money that she eats fewer calories than my hubby (who doesn't exercise BTW!---OK, now I'm just feeling mean LOL)
Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed,
Dee.
Thanks for letting me vent!
It feels good to know that I can always come here for a good rant about these issues and be understood
:-)
Dee.
