Diet ?

This has probably been addressed before, but honestly, I just don't feel like looking for it. I'm having a rough few days here - I'm hypo (Graves dx post RAI) - is there a certain way of eating that has been suggested to help you (us) feel better - as in more protein, good carbs, low fat, anything like that?
Thanks,
Tracey

HI inasmuch,
There is a book out there called THe THyroid Diet.
Hi Tracey,
How long ago did you have RAI?
I came to ask the same question. I've been working out 5 days a week, have tried a variety of things(WW, modified South beach, diabetic exchange plan) all very sensible and nothing!!
I've started having a hard time with exercise, because of a rapid resting heart rate. Exercise really gets it going to fast. I go in next week to see if my medication(50mcg of levoxyl) needs to be adjusted.
I've gained 20 pounds in a year, most of that in the last 7 months, I would settle for a 10 pound loss!

I gained 6 pounds over the holidays and cant lose it.
I have hypo. 3 years ago. I just go my levels checked and they
were fine. so I dont know what the problem is, I eat breakfast,
yogurt, or grapefruit, or grapenuts, eat a snack, then lunch.
snack, then dinner, and snack. I work out at home to the fitness
channel every day. I can lose nothing. my clothes are tight and cant
lose those love handles, despite sit ups etc. I use the ab roller.
The way I workout I should lose some inches in my waist. My arms are
fat, I think and I lift some weights to try to fix that problem.
I am at a lost of what to do also. I take the one a day weight smart
and levoxathrine (spelling). I was at 162 2 yrs ago, Then got finally
got down to 142 and now back up to 148 then down to 145 where I stand
and cant do anymore. Any feed back would be appreciated. Thanks
I totally agree. If I would have worked this hard 5 years ago, I would be a stick!! A little over a year ago, I weighed 137; now I weigh 162. I think I'm going to try a lower carb approach.
I have Celiac's(gluten intolerance)the replacement flours/products tend to be higher in carbs. When I was first DX with Celiac's, I didn't know what to eat so I just stuck with the basics--lean meats, eggs, fruits, vegies, brown rice and lots of water, it worked then of course that is before I was hypothyroid.
