I had a baby last february and have been dealing with severe hormonal imablances ever since he popped out!
Lately I have had insomnia. I'll literally lay there until 5am and i'm not stressed and anxious. My body won't sleep. I have had a TON of hair loss and my heart races unnaturally. Also hot flashes and fatigue. I can't run without feeling like I just climbed 100 stairs. It's the strangest thing. I read one woman's post to take evening primrose oil and biotin. My next question, what brand to use? I read this one that says to get it not just cold pressed but where they press it at below certain temperatures to keep it in tact but it was 150.00 for 1 pint of primrose. Ahhh!
Any advice, suggestions, comments, anything would be helpful. Thanks.
P.S. Tommorrow I am getting bloodwork done to see what my levels are. THe problem is today i feel GREAT. All back to normal again. It seems when i get my period I feel good and then spiral downward until I get my period again.

I'm sure you'll get it all figured out - it may not be a thyroid condition at all - hormones do wonders to your body and with the right doctor, right treatment etc., I'm sure you'll be okay! Let us know what happens!
Good luck!
Hi Palmdessa,
Welcome and we're glad you found us.
It will be interesting to see what your levels are when you get your bloodwork done.
Thanks for the welcome!
Just got back from the doctors. They ran a metobolic panel, CBC, and cholesteral, anemia. They also did TSH, T3, and T4.
I won't know what thyroid results are but already got other results (which I think is interesting because they seem to correlate with what's going on with my thyroid)
Blood count-Hematic high, so not anemic
Calcium-too high
Liver function--too high
cholride is 109 which probably has to do with calcium
Bad cholesterol 176
good cholesterol 55
she told me to stay away from animal fats... I am 5'2 105 lbs...go figure. I was 112 lbs last month so it's obvious with my insomnia, HAIR LOSS, heart palpitations, fatigue, weightloss that I had a "thyroid storm"...I keep switching between hyper and hypo...last month i was hyper all the way and the last 3 days i've been feeling hypo.
my dream would be to be hypothyroid, take a little ARMOUR and vitamins and be fine...hyperthyroid seems so hard to regulate with too many side effects from the drugs. At least that's what i saw from my twin sister who has graves disease. She had a thyroid storm and they gave her radioactive iodine to kill her thyroid. The radioactive idione made one of her nasal glands stop functioning so she constantly has mucous and nasal drip.
anyway i'll find out what the results of my thyroid t3, t4, tsh are monday or tuesday and let you know!
