Questions about possible surgery

I'm new to the board, and I'm wondering if I could get anyones thoughts. I've had thyroid nodules and Hashimoto's for about 4 years.(That I know of) I've had numerous ultrasounds, and now three FNA's. Lately though (about 6 months) I've been having discomfort in the largest nodule, a strange sensation when I swollow, and my voice kind of gives out and I get lightheaded when singing. My Endocrinologist refered me to an ENT surgeon, who ordered the 3rd FNA (I had it done yesterday) and discussed removing that side of my thyroid. I'd like to hear from anyone who has had this surgery. Is it difficult to recover from? Do you continue to have to change your dosage of Thyroid hormone, or does it level out? I've been taking Levoxyl for the Hashimoto's and I has progressivly increased.
Thank you so much for you time.

Hi Holly,
Welcome to our board.
I'm not sure how your situation with your meds will change if you do have the surgery.
Hi hdgarner,
