Hey everyone,

I am about 2 weeks new to your boards and find them so interesting and helpful. Thanks!!!
I am a little concerned after I read some of your posts.

I'll try to make a long story short.

I am 34 years old. About 2 yrs ago I decided to get a physical. I had gotten a new job which required me to stand on my feet all day and I attributed that to my being tired ALL THE TIME.
Anyhow, my new dr was great. She did all the tests. It was a Thurs. She told me she'd call me Monday with the results.
She called the next day.
She said exactly this....she's never seen thyroid levels so low in her career and didn't know how I got out of bed in the morning. she told me my Thyroid level was 150. And that normal was .4

I, not knowing what a thyroid even did, freaked out. She started me off with 25mcg, and every month raised it till I reached 125 mcgs which I've been on for about a yr and a half now. I feel 85% better but still am so tired sometimes.

Although I think shes awesome, I decided to go to an Endo. I go to him 2x a year and I've been "normal" since then. He puts me at ease every time I go but now I'm reading about all these different kinds of thyroid tests. How do I know he's doing all of them? And how important are all of them? Would it affect my medicine if something wasn't right on one of the other results?
What is normal? LOL

PS I have Hashimotos and I also had pericarditis (water around my heart) which is attributed to Hashimotos but since the Synthroid, I was told my EKG is now normal. Why am I doubting him now?

Should I be worried? I haven't been sleeping lately but not sure if its because of my allergies or what.
We're TTC and you know all these thoughts run through your head.

Many thanks for any input.

Love, Rita <3

PS Sorry so long!

Hi Rita,

Welcome!

Usually an endoc. does do the necessary testing since he/she is the specialist in this area.

Thank you both so very much.

I am pretty nervous about getting p with the thyroid disorder to be honest with you.
Endo told me as soon as I find out I am indeed P, I must see him right away which makes me feel better. When I do, I'll bring all that up with him (all the tests).
He made it seem like, as often as I go to my obgyn, I'll be seeing him as well. Is that normal?
Anyhow I'm easy to please unfortunately and not sure if its such a good thing.
You know they are always like "don't worry"

But I am a worry wort! After I was diagnosed, I read all the horror stories about deformities and cried for days.

I just want an uneventful pregnancy and healthy little cutie pie.

Have a good night and thanks again for all the useful info!
