Hi, I'm new here but not to iVillage. I have some questions that I was hoping someone here might be able to help me with. I have not been diagnosed with a thyroid imbalance. I had a test done a few weeks ago and it came back normal. The thing is that I know there's something amuk. I am so tired, to the point of drowsy around this time of the day. I have several other symptoms of hypothyroidism and everytime I have the test done, it's normal.
So, what are all the types of tests that I can ask my doctor about. I understand that the T3 and T4 levels can be checked. Is this through a standard test or specialized test?
Basically, I want to make sure I'm not nuts. I used to be a hypocondriac when I was a kid, so I try not to complain about anything anymore. I've learned. However, I'm 37 now, I know something is off.
TIA. Oh yeah, is there a special diet that helps regulate things better? Any good websites to visit with info as well would be appriciated.

Hi Cathie,
Welcome to our board.
It's possible that you do have a thyroid disorder even if your tests are normal.
