I don't know whether it is possible or not. Here is my test result I got yesterday from my primary care doctor.

TSH 5.53 (0.45-4.70)
T4 Free 1.20 (0.78-2.20)
T3 Free 2.65 (2.0-3.5)

He even tried to feel my thyroid gland. Also, he took the X ray about couple weeks ago when he had noticed TSH was above normal. Everything is fine except TSH. He explained to me that the thyroid hormone was low and the brian received the message that has to work harder (TSH). He told me that was nothing wrong with my thyroid gland. He told me that I am at the high risk of ending up having underactive thyroid later in my life, might be in the middle age. He told me that he is supposed to monitor every year. I don't have obvious sign except, weight gain, dry skin, brittle nail, hair loss. Those kinds of symptoms are so mild. I can tell you that I didn't even take any good care of my skin in the first place. Nail is not even properly cared.

Hi Caper2002,

The symptoms you mentioned can be hypo ones and may be coming from the elevated TSH.

Hi Caper,

If I may suggest something--if your TSH is that high and you already have hypo symptoms, I would suggest if at all possible to make an appt. with an endo and get a more thorough exam and testing, as they will follow you through more closely and not wait until symptoms get worse. Bea
