HI everyone!  Its been a busy month for me recently.  Have a lot going on!! Its summer though so I guess I should expect it.

I've been having sleep problems for a while now.  I NEVER considered myself a good sleeper. Always envious of my hubby who will hit the pillow and not wake up again til morning!  Things the last few months have gotten a bit worse as far as sleep and things that happen during it.  One episode finally scared me enough to call my doc. In which he sent me to a neuro. They did a 24 eeg to make sure it wasn't a seizure, everything came back ok.  He then sent me to a sleep doctor.  I met with that doc, it was quite nice!! The point of the visit was to go over my history, talk about my problems, etc. The visit was about 1 hr!   He asked me tons of questions about my sleep habits, what happens, if I am tired, what time I go to bed, awake, on and on.  (if only thyroid docs were this thorough!).

At the end he said I have restless legs syndrome. I knew that.  I dont have it happen frequently so I never sweat it.  I get it randomly and its annoying that night until I finally fall asleep.  The other thing which he said is he is pretty certain that I have narcolepsy.  He said my history is compelling enough that even if my tests are inconclusive he will probably still say I have it.     I told him all this time I keep thinking its my thyroid and THATS why I am fighting this sleepiness.  I never thought it could be anything else!

I go in Aug 6th to have the sleep study and the nap tests the next day.  I will be happy to maybe in the near future be able to sleep well!! :-)
