Thyroid US today

I'm having the ultrasound on my thyroid today. In 2.5 hours actually. Is there anything I should look for? I'm a bit nerveous. I'm not even sure how long it'll take for an answer back from the doctors. It's fusterating, but I'm hopeing it's not my thyroid, the Cushing's would be easier to handle, LOL, but I'll accept thyroid problems. Wish me luck.
/hugs,
Cassie

Hi Cassie,

I'm just checking in on the boards now so I didn't get to your message before your ultrasound.

I won't know anything till around the end of the week, if not the begining of next week. However, they did do the us on my thyroid and on the "buffallo hump" on my back. The tech was real calm throughout the whole thing, then she started looking at the pictures and her voice sounded panicy. She said she's taking it straight to the radiologist. When she comes back, she tells me that I'm ok to go, my dr will get ahold of me in the next couple days, and just so I'm aware, the radiologist has called in another oncologist for farther consultation. I want to wait and hear from my doctor before anything goes farther, but that really freaked me out when she did that and what she said. I did overhear part of the conversation between the tech and the radiologist as I was leaving (they mentioned my name, so I know it was me), but they said they see palups (sp) on part of something and there was something that seemed abnomaly (sp) deformed. Sorry about the errors, I'm real tired and having some trouble seeing right now. DH and I agree that we will wait to hear from the doctor on the final word. She took a total of 57pics between the hump and the thyroid. (I lay there counting, LOL). Plus, they were going to let me see the pics, and then she wouldn't let me see them after they were done, LOL, that seemed odd to me, hehe. Oh well, LOL. Anyways, I better go, time for me to go to bed.
/hugs,
Cassie

I hope your doctor gives you good news. I have had several u/s on my thyroid, and the radiologist called in for back-up the first time, too. They wouldn't talk about it in front of me, but I think it's because they aren't the MD's and they aren't supposed to diagnose. With people are "sue me" crazy for pain and suffering I guess that's a good move. Anyway, I had several nodules, one quite large, on the thyroid, but the meds have shrunk them to half their size. I hope you have results as good!
