I have my MRI review from 3/24/2005. I'm not exactly sure of how to understand it. If anyone knows anything about this, pls let me know. I'll go ahead and type it in here so ya'll can see it, but if you are like me, you'll end up lost on most of the terms.

Examination: MRI of the brain
History: Arm and leg numbness. Migrains.
Findings: MRI of the brain was performed in the axial plane utilizing T1, proton density and T2-weighted spin-echo sequences. Sagittal and coronal T1- weighted sequences were obtained.
There is no comparison study available at the time of dictation.
No mass effect, midline shift or extraaxial fluid collection is seen. Ventricles and sulcal spaces are wighin normal limits. There is a rounded focus of increased T2 signal seen within the tright frontal white matter just lateral to the external capsule. This measures about 6-mm.
Corpus callosum is normally formed. No Chiari I malformation is seen. Flow voids are identified in the major intracranial vessels. Orbits are within normal limits and the visualized paranasal sinuses and mastoid air cells demonstrate mucoperiosteal thickening within the anterior ethmoid air cells bilaterally.
IMPRESSION: Single nonspecific focus of increases T2 signal is seen within the right frontal white matter. This could represent demyelinating disease. Lyme disease or CNS vasculitis could be other considerations. Cronic small vessel ischemic change is disfavored in light of the patient's young age.
