Im new to this board.....
I was diagnosed with a goiter about a year ago... they kept monitoring it. My blood levels staying about the same high levels.. (Don't remember the numbers.. But after reading the boards, I will ask for my lab results at my appointment in two weeks.) The doctor has several sonograms of my thyroid and has been monitoring the size. I also had the radioactive test done and that came out normal but that was close to a year ago...
In April she put me on 1 - 25 mcg of synthroid and 3 months later took blood work. She explained nothing happened.. She is trying to lower my levels and shrink my goiter, if possible. She now has me on 3 pills a day and I don't know the results yet. I don't know if what she is treating me for is hypo or hyper... Just wondering if anyone could help me figure out which one I have. Has anyone had a similar situtaion? Any information would be helpful...
Thanks.... Kirstine

Hi, you can get a goiter from your thyroid working too hard...which in your case is probably more hypothyroid. If levels (tsh)
Hi Kirstine,
Welcome to our board.
From your description about getting your levels lower, I would think you are in the hypo range.
