Hi All,
I found out on Friday that my doctor wants me to have a biopsy on my thyroid. He's been watching my thyroid for probably over two years now because I have some nodules living there. One of the nodules finally decided to get a little bit bigger, so to be on the safe side my doctor wants to look into it further. He thinks for the most part that its benign.....but its still on my mind and I'm a little nervous about having a biopsy.
I'm 28 years old, next month is my two year wedding anniversary. We've been going through all the exams and testing so we can start a family, this news puts family planning on hold AGAIN. I'm feeling a little frustrated.
Just wanted to introduce myself, I'll be visiting often...Nice to meet everyone!

Hi Sunflower4478,
Welcome to our board.
When you first hear news like needing a biopsy, it is kind of scary.
Hi Sunflower!
I understand completely! I had a needle biopsy Aug. 1st. It was more nerve-wracking waiting in the hall of the hospital!! However, FYI, please tell them if you feel ANYTHING! Stupid me didn't and it was uncomfortable. Recovery depends on you. I went to the hsopital by myself and had to drive home. Because you can't eat or drink anything after midnight, I was dehydrated and starving when I left. By the time I got home I was miserable. So, take all the time you need after the procedure, leave the hospital when you are ready. And REST the entire day! It is an invasive procedure and your body will react to it in some way. I ran a fever for a couple of days, but that could have been from anything! Still take it easy and you will be fine.
I will be saying a prayer for you! Let me know how you are.If I don't respond back right away it is because I have surgery on Aug. 31st, so I am on to another stage of this weird trip!!
