Hi Everyone!
This is my first real day up and about. Still feel shakey, but better everyday. Surgery went well, so they tell me. I got extremely nauseated afterwards, which was odd since I have had surgery before and not been that bad. I was pretty much out of it the first 24 hours! I didn't expect the long incision! Looks like someone slit my throat open! Which I suppose is closer to the truth! anyway, my doc did the right lobe. I will know what pathology results are by Tuesday when I go in to get stitches out (I hope). If it is cancer, I will go bc in this week to have the rest of the tyroid removed. Otherwise, it will be 6 months of testing to make sure the thyroid is working normally.
I really don't feel like I will nedd to go back in, but it is still gnawing away at me. But, I just try to keep those feelings away and concentrate on feeling better. The pain is getting more tolerable, I am trying to hold off on the meds today and just take at night. Eating is still hard, my nausea is still with me a bit and it hurts to swallow still.
But all in all, I feel human again!
I will be back on when I feel a little stronger and I will lt you know what the results say.
Thank you all for your prayers!
Julie

Hi Julie,
Welcome back!
My doctor called today (and on a holiday too!) to tell me he has to reschedule my appt tomorrow for thursday and not to worry, it is NOT cancer!!! Whew! I will still have to be monitored over the next 6 months to make sure the remaining thyroid is ok, I have cysyts and nodules on the left side as well, but they are small.
Still running a fever and if it isn't gone by tomorrow, I have to go to ER to make sure I don't have an infection, I feel much better, started taking Tylenol and not the Vicodin and I feel more clear-thinking.
Thanks for all your prayers! I will fill you in on Thursday.
Julie
