Hi and welcome. I am hyperthyroid and am currently on PTU. I've had many of the Grave's symptoms but was not officially diagnosed. I don't visit the boards too much here but check in every now and then.
I have not chosen RAI but am continuing on PTU. The PTU is controlling my condition.
What are/were your symptoms and are you taking meds?
Hope you're able to find some answers and support here.
Thanks for the replys. I have been hyperthyroid for over 4 years now. I have also been through two pregnancies and had to go on ptu during both. The good news is I went off the medication for both about 3 months after having my children. My levels are still borderline high but I don't need to take meds at this time. My dr. says it is normal for the thyroid to wax and wane. Do you find this to be true for your too? I can tell when my thyroid is out of whack when I start to sweat at night and lose weight, but usually this is short term and goes back to borderline normal in a few days and I become symtom free. I don't want surgery or to drink a nuclear drink at this time. I feel nervous about it.
Hi Mom-faith3,
