Hello all. I am glad I found this message board. I know there are many women suffering with thryoid diesese. I bet a lot of us had had a low functioning thryoid for a long time before we actually were put on medication. I have a very LOW functioning metabolism (or rather a dead one!). I am looking for tips on how to improve it. I walk 2 miles, 6 days a week and do a fitness ball. I have always exercised, but my metalolism seems to be SHOT. I am on a thryoid medication and have been for almost 5 years. The levels still have to be checked every 3 months, due to flucuations. Anyone with suggestions ?

The metabolism/weight issue is a prime one, as you know, when dealing with the thyroid.
