Hi there! I just found this board.
I've had thyroid condition (original diag. Hashimoto's) for 7 years now. I had a complete thyroidectomy in 2001 due to numerous goiters (too many nodules for them to count)several of which were pre-cancerous. My nodules grew inward and actually pressed on my wind pipe! Talk about an asthma misdiagnosis. I gained over 45 puonds with this condition and still managed to remain active (road races and even triathons, I found out it could be done).
Recently, I have become pregnant with my second child. I was told with my first child that I would be slow in producing breast milk. True it did happen that my milk came in later than normal, but it came. Now I am freaked out that it won't come in with this child!
my numbers are stable but I am on a high dose of synthroid (200mcg). Has anyone here ever had successful nursing experiences with more than one pregnancy?
TIA for your answers and support.
Amy
