Hi, I am new to all this, so bear with me. I have a nodule that was discovered at my regular physical. My doctor then sent me for a ultrasound, then to an Endocrinologist. I had my needle biopsy last week. I got the results today and the doctor said it showed benign, but that were some suspcious follicular cells and wants me to go to a surgeon.
Is this the usual routine? Do they remove the thyroid to be safe and do the further testing to see if it is cancerous once it is removed?
Thanks!

Hi Townie68,
Welcome to our board.
Yes, what you have been through so far sounds like normal procedure to me.
I have been lucky enough never to have surgery before, so I am learning much about how it all works.
Have a great day!
