Hello everyone, my name is Liz. I am new to this board, but not Ivillage. I was diagnosed with Hypo after the birth of my first child, TSH at 155, so I was quite sick by then. That was a year ago, and I haven't found a good dose of Synthroid yet. The past few tests, T4/T3 and TSH (6.25) have been high ALL around. This is odd. Yesterday, my dr suggest I had a pituitary problem, and is sending me to have a CT and an ACTH test. Does anyone have any familiarity with this? I did read that it's called Secdonary Hperthyroidism, caused by a tumor, but it is extremley rare. The dr seems to think I crossed over to hyper a few months ago, but I am still taking 100mcg of synthroid a day.
I am completely confused and a little nervous to say the least. Finding a Endo dr here is difficult, and I finally found one to see but not until Feb.
Thanks in advance
Liz

Hi Liz,
Welcome to our board.
That first TSH was extremely high.
Thanks for your reply. My dr explains my TSH level and cross over to hyper because he has been dropping my Synthroid for the past six months, and even with the drop in meds, my TSH is dropping too. It's still high, 6.25, but last test it was 8.5.
I also crossed from hypo to hyper. I stopped taking synthroid and the dr put me on methimazole three times a day (when I remember to take it). I wish things would just level out.
Did you say something about taking a CT scan? When do you go for that?
I am going for the CT scan tomorrow night. I finally got a hold of my thyroid lab from Thurs
