so I started having swollen glands, & felt cold at night in bed... went for acupucture, and drank my chinese tea, and
it went away, until last night. (I didn't drink my tea much for a few days) I got cold hands, and feet, didn't sleep well last night. My glands aren't normal. I originally started out with acid reflux, and FINALLY got enzymes to help digest, instead ofjust taking a prescription. Seems to have helped. I couldn't lay flat in bed for 3 nights
due to a chest gas pain, and that went away. My eyes have been a bit red, and I thought that
was from dairy products bothering me. I'm just wondering after researching galore about the thyroid....if that's what I have, what else people do instead of drugs. Today I'm drinking my Chinese herbs hoping that makes me normal again.
I'm waiting for a new insurance to start, so I'm not able yet to
go to a doctor yet. I feel my syptoms are hypothryoid......anybody have similar symptoms and
take care of this without drugs??? Thanx tons!!

Hi Starlight06,

Welcome to our board.

I'm not sure about any connection between acid reflux and thyroid problems but if you feel you have hypo symptoms, it's a good idea to have your doctor order the blood tests.

Hi, I am hypothyroid (Hashimotos). I used to have terrible heartburn every night. Ever since I started taking Levothyroxine (thyroid hormone) I have not had even one occurance of digestive problems. I used to eat Tums every night. So, your problem *might* be related to a thyroid problem. I am not into natural remedies, so I cannot help you with any info on natural help for thyroid problems. Please go to your dr and ask for a TSH, T4 & T3 test, as well as an ultrasound of your thyroid.

Hi Jess,

That is very interesting to hear that your heartburn went away when you started the thyroid meds.

thanks so much for your emails- calley7, jess, and axsai! I am waiting to
go for blood tests ASAP, and in the meantime, I did start drinking the old
fashioned remedy, apple cider vinegar, and so far, wallah, my chest pains
went away, and so far I feel great. I'm actually trying to see a special
nutritionist that a friend referred me to also. I'll keep you posted.
As far as the natural armour, I did read about that, and it sounds great Axsai, taking
something natural.
Since you do have acid reflux, try the apple cider vinegar-

2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar, with 1/8 (to 1/4) teaspoon baking soda, and add 1 Cup water (or a little more to make it easier to drink)
and if you need to juice it up to taste better, add 2 Tbs of raw honey,
and 1 fresh squeezed lime.

So far, it's helping me! and I only take it like once a day.
I'll let you know what I find out from seeing the doctor.
Thanks tons!
