Pregnancy and TC

Hi all! My name is Kelly and I'm new here. I am 10 weeks pregnant and wondering if anyone here has any 1st hand information to share with me regarding pregnancy and thyroid cancer. I had a TT in 8/02 and have been on Levoxyl since. I've read that keeping levels regular is crutial for a healthy pregnancy. My doctor didn't seem to concerned and said we'd check my levels "every once in awhile", but I want to make sure nothing goes wrong that I could have prevented. Any other useful information would be greatly welcomed, too, as this is my first pregnancy after having TC.
Thanks!

Hi kelaug8,

Welcome to our board.

I have heard the same as you about making sure your levels stay in a good place while you're pregnant.

Hi Kelly,

I didn't have TC when pregnant but when I went to my Dr for a referral to my ob/gyn, he found my nodule. I just had a TT in August for TC. I found out I was hypo at 8 weeks of my pregnancy and believe it or not, he tested me every 6 weeks to make sure my levels were good. My endo told me that if your levels aren't correct, you could have a low weight baby, could have slight to severe mental issues. Is this your endo suggesting to check once in a while? I would suggest you to be very proactive in your babies care and insist on being tested more. What's a simple blood test to ease your worries?? Any Dr that would refuse, is a dr you dont want to continue to see. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Hugs to you!

Dyan :)
