Hello...i was just wondering what symptoms people had with their hyperthyroidism...I have adrenal fatigue and hypoglycemia as well and am working with a naturopath doctor who is helping me alot, but i don't have much of an appetite at all, have lost a ton of weight, and my stomach bothers me quite a bit which probably has alot to do my anxiety problems but I am new here and would just like to hear what other people have gone through and things that have helped!! Thank you!!

Hi sunshine12169,

Welcome to our board.

Have you been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism or are you in the testing process?

I am actually going to my regular doctor to get a full panel done on Wed...my naturopath started me on a bunch of vitamin and mineral supplements (i had severe deficiences) and something from the Biotics corporation called Li-Zyme which as soon as i stared taking that alot of the emotional and anxious feelings got better, but they are still there. I had a ton of symptoms of overactive thyroid, but she thinks most of what is ailing me is my adrenal glands being almost burned out, which will also affect your thyroid...i am on alot more for the adrenals and those seem to be helping as well. but my biggest symptoms when it started really badly were fatigue, i had extreme weight loss, panic attacks, i would also wake up in the middle of the night sweating with my heart racing and my arms and legs either numb or so tense i had to get up,go into the living room and try to go back to sleep in our recliner chair so my legs were elevated, and some nights i couln't sleep at all even though i was exhausted...but I think i have had adrenal problems for awhile and they finally got so bad it started messing everything else up...because about 6 or 7 years ago i dropped almost 30 pounds for no reason at all, was anxious and moody, and stayed that way for a good 3 or 4 years and then started seeing a chiropractor (which is a must for your nervous system) and he seemed to balance things out, i gained my weight back to where i was before and was feeling great, and then i think my adrenals just began to burn out and it was hell for two weeks....i couldn't eat hardly anything, i was waking up with those attacks every night, crying all the time, and for two or three days was so weak i actually felt like i was between being conscious and unconsious....it was really scary and i had no clue what was going on and my old doctors kept telling me i was fine. but i am going to get a full panel done this week, i have had the salivary adrenal test done which showed definite adrenal problems, but i am going to have blood work done for that as well to make sure its not headed towards Addison's disease, but i will def let you know what the thyroid panel says...my holistic doc was pretty adamant about me doing that as well to make sure what she is doing for me is doing what it is supposed to be, because if it is not then she needs to integrate her treatment with whatever the doctor recommends. she is wonderful and I love her to death, I am just really sensitive to medication and she is getting to the bottom of what is actually going on, instead of my old doctors and the days when i was in the hospital when all they were doing was shoving antidepressants down my throat, none of which i could take....i had allergic reactions to all of them. but anyway, i am rambling again lol....it just helps to talk to people who understand how i feel and what im going through....i have alot of people who have adrenal problems too that are lending me a lot of support...it gets frusterating because i have a very small support system, and my husband gets frusterated sometimes because he feels like he cant help me so it helps to vent to other people lol....but anyway i hope to hear from you soon!!! and thank you

Check with your Dr. about getting something for your stomach. I did and it helps. The actual prescription varies per person, so check it out. The important thing is to ensure you eat (preferably low carb, low sugar), even several small meals a day. It helps with the symptoms before they have a chance to begin. When you do not eat something every few hours, the symptoms seem to magnify I have found.
