Hi Eberyone,
Well I got home yesterday from the hospital, surgery went very well, inital report completely BENIGN nodule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, my docs say it did not have any sucsipicous nature they dont expect it to come back cancer, though of course there is always that possiblity. Still little foggy headed from all the meds, besides dealing with phelm in my throat it is not that bad. Coughing is horrible so I try not to do that. I did want to thank everyone for their overwhelming supportive words and prayers. I could not sleep the night before surgery so I got online checked my email and posts , I received so many it was unbelievably touching because of ALL OF YOU I went into the hospital with this huge sense of peace!! thank you all so very much! Well I cant type to much right now, but wanted to keep yu all posted, so far good news! I will hear no later than Tuesday on final patholgy report, my calicum levels are little low so taking calicum pills 3x daily. But all is good! thank you again everyone I will post again soon :) E-hugs and blessing to all of you!!!!!!! sorry if there any any typos...LOL

Hi Kelly,
What made them remove your nodules? I aske because I already had my right side removed and then doing a neck x-ray they found my left side now has about 7 nodules but I was just ignored by one dr. I went for a 2nd opinion and now he wants to do some more ultra sound pictures? My throat feels tight and I have some symptoms. I have some other health issues so would LOVE to avoid surgery. I have been avoiding going back for follow up for about 3 months now. Just wondering if they said your nodules had to be a certain size shape or amount of them? Did you have other symptoms? Thanks for letting me post a message to you and ask questions. I wish you a speedy recovery and I hope your family is blessed everyday by having you with them. God Bless!! Annette
Hi Annette,
I have one nodule on my left 1.7 cm with a cyst attached... they had not said anything about how many or how large and they would have to be removed.. my remaining left lobe with the nodule/cyst is benign . so I would imagine the game plan would remain the same as before I am 6 days post op so have not seen doc for future plan yet!. They have not grown though my right nodules cells had changed... from inital FNA so because of that they suggested it be removed all FNA said appeared to be follicular adednomas which is a benign tumor/nolule which it turned out to be but could not rule out follicular caricnoma.. so with that I choose surgery all nodules are 85% benign.. but I felt more comfortable with it out. My mom had her left removed same benign nodule and now have several on her remaining right side, they have just been watching them for growth or changes, they did state it would be VERY rare for her nodules to be cancer with the other one removed benign. I as you have half left but will always need to watch for growth as with the first any large growth could potental affect breathinig etc... but with only one side left the chances of that are minimal... so I hope all this helps. Let me know if you have other questions I can help you with!!!! I wish you the best of luck in your choices. Please keep me posted.... Take care
Kelly~
Hi Kelly,
Thanks for the info. It does really help. It's time for me to quit being a chicken and just get in there for my follow-up. It is so great to connect with other women in similar situations. I really appreciate you sharing your personal journey. It does help me realize I should just face it. Thanks again, Annette :o)
