Saw Endo Today-Help!

I was diagnosed with a 9mm nodule approximately 3 months ago through ultrasound and uptake scan. I have almost a month to see an Endo and she told me today that she doesn't recommend biopsy. She said I should let it alone and check it again in a year. She claims that even if on the off chance it were cancerous it would never spread and I could have it for years and not harm me. This terrifies me and just doesn't sound right to me. Any advice out there? My family doctor says it needs to be biopsied and to see an endo and she says no-that it is a waste of time. I don't know what to do and am getting more nervous by the day. Anyone ever hear this-that if it were cancerous not to worry about it-I have always heard that if you ever had any kind of cancer in your body you should take care of it immediately-endo claims that thryroid cancer is so slow growing that it would never harm me. Looking for any info anyone wants to share about this-I feel very uneasy about this and am torn on what to do. I can't find another endo to see me for another 2 months for a 2nd opionion! Frustrating..

I would also check into a second opinion and get the appointment with the endoc. even though it won't be for two months.
