Hi
Been a while since I have been on this site. It has now been three months since I have been on 50mg (take 2) Thyroxine. All the symptoms have gone, husband and cats very very happy that it's not like World War III in the house.
How do you know if you are at the right dose? Dr never mentioned to me to go back for a follow up test. Should I ask for one before I get my next script? I don't seem to be losing any weight, I have bascially followed the free form diet (The Thyroid Diet) all my life. Have added aquarobics to my workout hoping that it would kick start my body into losing weight, but it hasn't. Seems that I am still sitting at the weight when the doctor diagnosed me. The bathroom and I are loving mates thanks to all the water I am drinking.
Would dearly love to lose the weight as going overseas later in year.
Your help would be appreciated.
Al

Hi Al,
I think if you continue to feel good on the dose you're on, that would be the right one - at least for now.
Hi Calley,
Thanks for that, will have to ask my dr for copies of my tests. Would be good to keep track. Pity that my dr wasn't a fellow sufferer, then they would be able to understand how I am feeling.
Husband reckons the only way I will lose weight, is if I chop my head off!!!!!!! Yes, he is a wisecrack, and sometimes can go way overboard with his comments.
Will keep you posted.
Al
