Hello!

I had thyroid surgery on the 5th of this month. I have a tightness in my throat. It feels like someones choking me. It comes and goes. I had the left side removed only.

Is this normal?

Thanks for any help.

I had the same sort of thing happen to me after my surgery. I elevated my head and that seemed to help, massaged my scar tissue after it was healed with Vitamin E oil and occasionally now it happens but not to bad! It will get better!

I started having symptoms about a week after surgery. Tired, achy, irritable, and consipated. I had a subtotal so I was expecting to have some symptoms but not that quick. Now some of it I also attribute to PMS but the constipation wasn't part of that so I knew I was starting to have symptoms.

I'm sorry you started having the problems so soon.
Didn't the doctor test you and put you on anything knowing how the surgery would effect you levels? If so he may need to give you more of the meds to get rid of the hypo effects.
I do hope it gets better for you soon.
I know being on the hyper side of things aren't any better than being on the hypo side from everyone I have heard from that is hypo.
I'm still not sure if surgery is it for me...It's not an easy choice by any means.
Some I have heard from that have had tt seemed to have done well after the surgery and others are having problems.
I guess it's just how ones own body reacts and how soon they get you on the right dose of meds to keep things working right that really makes a difference.
There aren't any easy answers that is for sure.

Hugs,
Ginger
