Hello,
I hope all is well with you and yours. This is my first time posting on this board. I hope someone can help me out.Anything anyone has to offer would be greatly appreciated. I just found out about a month ago that I have an under active throid. After going back and forth to the dr, for constant fatigue and weight gain. They just brushed me off as 1) being depressed and 2) that fact that I work full time,go to school part time, and have a family was their reason for me being tired. So I figured they are the ones that have MD behind their names-must know what they are talking about. So I started taking a anti depression. After 5 mth still not feeling better.
Finally after 4 different times at the dr and seeing a different dr, they tested me and diagnosed me with hypothroid. Now I have been on sythroid 0.50 mg a little over a month.Went back for a follow up,my levels are better but they want to keep me at the same dosage. Not as tired as I was before. But my hair is still falling out ...And I still feel foggy(which hurts my school work) and the headaches hasn't stop.
How long before everything starts to "click"? And bassed off your experience, were you able to lose any weight that was gained?
Thanks for taking the time.

I think it took me a good 2 weeks before anything started feeling better, and probably 6 weeks before really feeling better. It does take a while and its something to get used to for most things dealing with this disease including testing that things take a while.
No, I didn't lose any weight when I started on Synthroid but I didn't gain any either. I just started on Armour and am hopeful about that.
