Waiting for test results

Hi! I'm new to this board, but hoping to get some advice. I went to my OB/GYN last week for my annual with full intentions of having my Mirena IUS removed, because I've had six months of terrible bleeding problems with it. The NP heard all of my complaints, then started asking questions about my health - was I often cold, was my skin dry, was I more tired than I felt I should be, etc. She asked me 20 questions, and I could answer yes to 15 of them. She decided to test my TSH, because she suspects that I might be hypothyroid. I'm 28, have a 3 year old and a 15m old.

My sypmtoms center around heavy, long, painful periods (which I should not have at all with the Mirena); always feeling cold; hair loss; dry skin; brittle nails; depression; exhaustion and I'm always achy. I have not had weight gain, but I do have to work very hard to maintain my weight. Most, if not all, of these symptoms I had attributed to other causes, but they make sense together.

I'll get the results back later on this week, but I was wondering if it's even possible to be hypothyroid without weight gain.

Just looking for tips re: what to ask when I get results, etc. Any input would be welcome.

Thanks so much!
