Night Sweats.....

I'm 40 & have been sweating at nite on/off for a few years.......

I know what you're thinking -

but could there be any other cause for this?????????

(I still take the pill, so it's not clear how I'd be doing if I were off of it - menopausally, or sweatwise!) ~

ie - Could there be any other reason for doing this? It seems to be constant - every nite now - rather than in phases of doing it & not doing it.

one of the most stand out symptoms I had with a hyperthyroid (graves) was I always felt hot. When I went to bed, It felt like I was sleeping on fire. Some people expierence intense sweating I didn't but I always felt hot. Since being treated, I feel the cold and I'm curious to see how the spring and summer heat with or without AC will be. Good Luck!

I too have graves and with being on the ptu most of the time I'm going between being hot then cold. At night i get really hot and sometimes to the point of sweating with the covers on me then during the day with the ac on I get cold but at 40 and only having one overy left from my hysterectomy I could also be going into menopose but it's so hard to tell anymore with the thryoid overactive.
I'm due to have surgery soon even though it's a scary thought I just hope it settles everything down.

Are you taking anything else besides the pill? I had my Zoloft upped, and later I found out that it can cause night sweats. So can other antidepressants. I went back down to my original dosage and I no longer have the night sweats. While I am old enough for "perimenopause" I don't think I've had that yet.

Hmmmmm.

Well I'm definitely inspired to check that avenue! It's not been upped lately, but maybe over time it would do that. thanks!
