Hi I'm new here my name is Christine I am 24 and I have a daughter named,Emily.
She is 16 months old.17 pounds, and 26 inches long.I have just found out that her thyroid count is 7.1.I was told that the normal range is 7.4-7.5.I have tried to look and find info out about this but I can't find anything directly related to low thyroid count. The doctor said that the thyroid count could be the cause of her not growing or gaining much weight in 6 months. Can anyone give me any information on this at all.And what are the ways that this can be fixed.
Any and all information, suggestions or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Christine

Hi Christine_mom24,

Welcome to our board.

I'm not sure what you're referring to when you mention Emily's thyroid count.

If her TSH is 7.1, she is pretty hypothyroid. I have taken my thyroid condition into my own hands and NEVER take what he doctor says as fact...except for my new doc, he actually knows the NEW research. A book by Mary Shomon, I think, is really informative. I am 31 weeks pregnant and I make sure that my TSH stays below 2.0, and I feel pretty good at that level. When it gets over 2.0 I am exhausted and cranky and weak...I am sure the pregnancy isn't helping, but I do notice the difference.
